Los responsables del secuestro de una mujer en Pachuca, Hidalgo, fueron condenados a 140 años de cárcel, a unas semanas de que se cumplan dos años de que la madre de la víctima suplicara ayuda al entonces secretario de Gobernación, Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong,
El caso llamó la atención de los medios porque durante una gira de trabajo por el estado de Hidalgo, Maria Guadalupe Vargas Baños se lloró ante el titular de la Segob para pedirle ayuda; cerca de un día después, la mujer fue rescatada.
Funcionarios judiciales revelaron a Milenio que el juez del Centro de Justicia Penal Federal con sede en Nezahualcóyotl, en el Estado de México, halló culpables del secuestro de la maestra Elizabeth García, a Javier José Sánchez y a Luis Fernando Rojas Sánchez.
A los sujetos también se les condenó por el delito de posesión de armas de fuego de uso exclusivo de las fuerzas armadas.
El juzgador impuso a los delincuentes la multa de un millón 419 mil 532 pesos a cada uno.
Las investigaciones de la Procuraduría General de la República señalan que la organización criminal que perpetró el delito está implicada en otros cinco secuestros cometidos en territorio hidalguense y mexiquense.
